Two Ways to Fund Adult Support
Agency-Managed PDD: Under this option, an approved PDD service provider coordinates your family member's care and manages the funding. Respite Edmonton is a private respite service, not a PDD-contracted agency — if you work with an approved agency, ask whether a private respite service like ours can be included in your plan.
Family Managed Supports (FMS): A family member acts as the FMS Administrator, managing the budget and hiring support workers directly. Respite Edmonton works closely with FMS families to provide reliable, screened workers.
Private Pay: We also welcome families who prefer to pay directly without a funding program. Respite care starting from $30/hour — your exact rate is confirmed at your free assessment.
Other Funding Avenues
AISH: Many adults use their AISH income toward private respite. Funds belong to the individual to direct as they choose.
AHS Self-Managed Care: Clients assessed by AHS Home Care who receive funds to arrange their own care may use them toward our services. Please confirm eligibility and approved uses with your case manager before booking.
CDHCI: The Client-Directed Home Care Invoicing program requires AHS-registered providers. We are not currently registered under this program.
