Respite Care for Children & Youth
A private respite service offering in-home and community respite for children with disabilities. Families with FSCD funding may be able to use it toward our services, depending on their agreement.
In-Home Respite
A screened worker comes to your home to care for your child, allowing you to rest, work, or attend to other responsibilities.
Community Respite
Your child enjoys community outings, activities, and social engagement with a trusted worker by their side.
Sibling Care
We can include siblings in respite sessions when appropriate, giving all children meaningful time together.
Flexible Scheduling
Occasional evenings, regular weekends, or daily support — we build a schedule around your family's needs.
Support Levels
General Support Needs
Care for children who need supervision, engagement, and assistance with daily routines. Our workers provide a safe, nurturing environment while you take a well-earned break.
Higher Support Needs (Complex Care)
Specialized support for children with significant medical, behavioural, or developmental needs. We match families with workers who have relevant training and experience.
FSCD Funding Support
Families with approved FSCD funding may be able to use their funding for respite care services. Respite Edmonton does not currently offer direct billing to FSCD. Families are responsible for confirming coverage, reimbursement requirements, and approval with their FSCD caseworker.
